TIPS TO WEAN YOUR BABY FROM THEIR BABY BOTTLE


You must have seen the above one-year-old is still drinking milk from a baby bottle. His parents may be so difficult to wean him from his bottle. The dentist said that one of the factors of tooth decay of the kids is baby bottle. Just because ‘ love ‘ their bottle very much, they don’t have beautiful smile anymore.

You should wean your kids from their bottle earlier. Most doctors and child psychologists recommend 9 -12 months of age as the most appropriate time to release the child from the bottle. Here is some tips to avoid your kid to be ‘ baby bottle lover ‘ :
  • Recommend the glass in stages. Some brands of feeding equipment has the various shape of glass that suitable according your kid’s age.
  • Give the milk or water by the glass ( choose the cover according your kid’s age ) and let them make some experiment with it.
  • Start with once a day using glass, and then some other times use the bottle. In next several weeks the period of bottle using must be reduced and glass using is more often.
  • Say good bye to the bottle after several weeks then use only glass.

If it had succeeded in this stages, never return to the bottle. Because once you get back to the bottle, your kids will use this chance to manage you and get back to be ‘ baby bottle lover ‘.

BE POSITIVE PARENTS

On age between 1 – 2 years old, your kids start using mental and motor skills to pick and choose. In this age of developing what is called the autonomy where your child believed himself capable of doing anything themselves. But if this is not conducive to getting a response from the people around, the development will be the opposite, like a sense of shame and self doubt. Children can be like that if too much is forbidden.
As a parent, of course you want the best for your kids, including the development of autonomy in them. Here are 6 ways to be a positive parents :
  • Not too much banned. As long as you keep on eyes and take care of them, give them a bit of freedom of movement for your kids.
  • Don’t be over protective for the things that are naturally encountered, like not given the opportunity to play outside for fear of being exposed to germs.
  • Give motivation to your kids about new things, like you can take them to playground and ask them to play around.
  • Keep your kid’s curiosity by showing and mentioning the name of object being viewed.
  • Give a chance to try home activities like eating pieces of food with his own hands.
  • Give a chance to choose, like choosing toys that will be played or clothes to wear.
